Equations/Formalizations

While engineers use equations and mathematical formulations daily, some systems scientists and even natural scientists do not. Many experiments in geology and biology do not routinely require equations for their adequate interpretation. On the other hand, some systems processes (e.g. regulatory control through feedback) have a long history and knowledge base of using mathematics. One of the four Founders of General Systems Theory (and the long time editor of the first General Systems Yearbooks) was Anatol Rapoport was a mathematician. The later GST work of Klir or Rosen was mostly mathematical. It is important that the SPT collect and curate all formalizations found for each ISP and LP
